Despite battling illness and challenging conditions, a Scottish cross-country skier has achieved a historic personal best at the Winter Olympics. The 35-year-old athlete, experiencing sickness that led to vomiting, secured sixth place in the 10km interval start freestyle race. This performance marks the highest ever finish for a British competitor in an Olympic cross-country skiing event. The race, held in intense heat and against strong competition from Norwegian athletes, proved to be a demanding test. The skier’s resilience in overcoming physical discomfort and the demanding environment allowed them to achieve this significant milestone for British winter sports.
