For more than a year, our dedicated team undertook an unusual observational study, focusing on the singular existence of a specific road surface defect. This extensive project meticulously tracked the life cycle of one particular pothole, from its initial appearance as a minor crack to its significant expansion and eventual state.
Initially, the defect was barely noticeable, a small depression in the asphalt. However, as the seasons progressed, particularly through periods of heavy rainfall and fluctuating temperatures, its dimensions steadily increased. What began as a minor imperfection soon evolved into a considerable cavity, posing a growing challenge to motorists navigating the route daily. The observation period documented the gradual but persistent deterioration of the road structure, highlighting the dynamic nature of these common infrastructure problems.
