Zverev annoyed by reaction to becoming world number one

Following a recent setback at the Paris Masters, German tennis star Alexander Zverev has voiced his exasperation concerning the scrutiny he faces regarding his position atop the world rankings. The Olympic gold medallist expressed frustration, suggesting he is uniquely tasked with justifying his status as the world number one. Zverev highlighted his belief that other athletes who ascend to the pinnacle of the sport are not subjected to the same level of questioning and pressure to explain their qualifications. His comments underscore a perceived double standard, indicating a sense of annoyance over the constant need to validate his achievements and ranking standing to the public and media.
