Crashed RAF jet steered to ‘avoid built-up areas’ before pilots ejected, commander says

The commander of the Royal Air Force base where a jet crashed has stated that the pilots deliberately steered the aircraft away from populated areas before ejecting. Group Captain Gez Currie confirmed that the pilots are currently receiving hospital treatment, and their families are providing support.
