A recent investigation by the BBC has brought forth significant allegations concerning the global accounting firm Deloitte. Reports suggest the firm played a role in the alleged falsification of documents, purportedly to facilitate tax avoidance on a substantial portion of Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich’s wealth. The findings indicate that the scheme involved the creation of backdated paperwork. This manipulation of financial records reportedly led to the apparent disappearance of high-value assets, including luxury yachts and numerous mansions owned by Abramovich, from official accounting statements. These measures are said to have effectively obscured significant possessions from relevant financial disclosures, with the alleged aim of minimizing tax liabilities associated with the oligarch’s vast fortune.
